Book Week

This week, we celebrated Book Week, with stories read to classes by senior leaders, teachers, children and a successful author. Book Week celebrates reading and literacy, encouraging children to explore new stories, engage with the author, and participate in fun activities, fostering a lifelong love for books and learning.

On Friday children and teachers alike came to school dressed as characters from books.

Poetry Performance Show

On Wednesday, we had a poetry performance show. The purpose was to showcase our pupils’ creativity and confidence, allowing them to express emotions and ideas through poetry while fostering appreciation for language and encouraging a love of literature.

Those children who performed poems, developed their public speaking abilities and set an example to follow for the rest of the children.

Celebrating Reading

During Book Week, Year 1 students take part in exciting activities to celebrate reading. They enjoy buddy reading with Year 4 students, sharing stories and exploring new books together. A special highlight was meeting Vietnamese author Nguyen Thuy Anh, where they listened to her stories, asked questions, and read the poem together.
