Not giving up

This week the Early Years Centre has been focusing on the school value – Perseverance. For the children in Early Years, an understandable definition would be to try, try and try again. Shouts of “you can do it!” could be heard across the classes as the children tried new and more challenging activities.

The Digestive System

This week, Year 2 students have been thoroughly engaged in exploring a new and exciting type of experiment—investigating how the intestines work! They’ve shown great curiosity as they observed and participated in a hands-on activity simulating digestion, helping them understand this fascinating part of the human body. Alongside the experiment, the children have been developing their writing skills by learning to write clear instructions. They’re working on using time adverbials (like first, next, and finally), nouns, and verbs to make their instructions precise and easy to follow. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and focus as they develop their understanding of scientific processes and improve their writing skills.

Delicious and attractive egg bread is no longer a strange dish for Year 4! Speaking and Listening

Year 6 students conducted interviews with Year 7 students to learn about their service learning experiences. The Year 7 students shared inspiring stories about their projects, such as organizing community clean-ups and charity events, highlighting the skills they developed, including teamwork, leadership, and empathy. The Year 6 students, eager to capture these insights, practiced their interview skills by asking thoughtful and probing questions. This exercise not only provided valuable information for their news but also helped them refine their interviewing techniques, learning the importance of active listening, note-taking, and follow-up questions. The experience was enriching for both groups, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

Weekly Updates on 08/11/2024 | BVIS Hanoi - Weekly Updates on 08-11-2024
Y Nhi (9V) joined BVIS in August. This is what she has said about settling into the school this year :

'As a new student, I felt extremely nervous on the first day of school. I was afraid I wouldn't have any friends and wouldn't be able to keep up with the curriculum. However, after the first day of school, I felt less nervous. everyone was very kind and friendly. Everyone also talked to me and helped me a lot! The teachers at BVIS are very nice, they always answer my questions and always help me keep up with the curriculum. Now, after a few weeks of studying, thanks to everyone's help and love, I am very happy because I have many friends, and I also don't have too many difficulties with studying.'
