Students achieved a 99% pass rate.
A Level: Nearly 60 subject grades at A*-A, approximately 38% of students achieved grades A*-A. Over 100 subject grades at A*-B (70% of students)
IGCSE: Nearly 190 subject grades at A*-A; over 320 subject grades at A*-B; 82% of overall subject marks at A*-C

Students studying the IGCSE and A Level have broken a new record at BVIS Hanoi in 2024, and once again performed significantly above the global average.

As well as achieving an outstanding pass rate at 99.3%, for A Level programme, 38% of the students took the exam have achieved grades at A*-A. This was the highest in BVIS Hanoi history, exceeding the UK average of 27.9%. This year, our IGCSE students had also achieved so many high grades, maintaining a good results in 3 consecutive years. 35% of IGCSE students achieved grades at A-A*, exceeding the UK average of 22.6%.

Many BVIS Hanoi students will continue their academic studies at the world’s best universities, including Columbia University, UCL, King’s College, University of Melbourne.

In my personal statement that I sent to Columbia University’s admissions office, I showed myself as a young person who was interested in helping my community and connecting with my heritage through leadership, gained from the time being the Head Student, participating in school activities led by the Vietnamese Department, Community Service-Learning student-led projects, as well as my interest in bringing Vietnamese culture to the world. For IGCSE students, I was also not surprised to see many students individually achieving a full range of top grades in their portfolio of subjects. BVIS Hanoi is one of the top international schools in Hanoi offering the IGCSE and A Level curriculums, which are assessed by Cambridge Assessment International Education and certified by Council of International Schools (CIS). In year 10 and 11, students will study seven or eight subjects of the IGCSE programme, including compulsory maths, English, Science, Vietnamese and Vietnamese Humanities. In year 12 and 13, our A-level programme sees our students delve deeper into their chosen subjects. As they prepare for university – and start thinking about careers – they become specialists in their fields, typically studying four AS-level subjects in Year 12 and three A-level subjects in Year 13.
