The Metropolitan School of Panama (MET) proudly celebrated the graduation of 57 exceptional students, marking the school's ninth graduation ceremony in its 13-year history. This year's graduates, many of whom have been part of the MET community for over a decade, exemplified dedication, resilience, and a strong sense of camaraderie.
Graduation is a pivotal milestone, symbolizing the culmination of years of hard work and the exciting journey into adulthood. The MET Class of 2024 faced unprecedented challenges during their academic careers, yet they persevered with remarkable determination. Their support for one another and their commitment to the school's core values have made them inspiring role models for younger students.
The graduation weekend commenced with the traditional Senior Walkthrough, an event where graduates expressed gratitude to parents, teachers, and peers. Dressed in their togas, the seniors paraded through the school, creating an atmosphere of celebration and inspiration.
The Graduation Ceremony took place at the Panama Convention Center, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The event featured speeches by our Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Class speakers, along with musical performances by talented seniors Lucianee, Alessandra, and Benjamin. An emotional student-made video showcased memories and highlights from the graduate's journey.
To ensure global participation, the ceremony was live-streamed, allowing family and friends from around the world to share in the momentous occasion. Following the ceremony, a celebration unfolded on the terrace, filled with laughter, congratulations, and champagne toasts.
As the MET Class of 2024 embarks on new adventures, the school community extends heartfelt congratulations and wishes them continued success. They join the distinguished alumni network of the Metropolitan School of Panama, Panama's first IB Continuum school offering the PYP (Primary Years Programme), MYP (Middle Years Programme), and DP (Diploma Programme) programmes in English for students aged 3 to 18.
