The top International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum school in Panama, the MET offers an outstanding experience that guides our students through all three IB programs in English. We’re the only school in the country to offer this gold standard of education, which begins in Preschool and culminates in the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. The IB continuum is the ideal preparation for the rigor of university academics, as well as life as a global citizen.

WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a passport to the world, encouraging students to be internationally minded by exploring global perspectives, universal human values, and cultural awareness. Through the development of traits and attitudes essential to learning, IB students successfully engage with different people and cultures in an increasingly globalized world.

The IB’s three programs incorporate the best research and teaching practices from international educational models. Studies show that PYP and MYP students outperform learners following other programs, and that universities favor Diploma students when it comes to acceptance rates. This is why we’re proud to be the only IB continuum school in Panama.

THE IB CONTINUUM OF PROGRAMS

The IB continuum comprises three programs, which span ages 3-18 at the MET.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Early Childhood and Elementary students aged 3-11.
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Middle and lower High School students aged 11-16.
The Diploma Programme  (IBDP) for upper High School students aged 16-18.
