Christmas decorations are springing up around St Andrews International School Bangkok...Last weekend saw more than 170 participants in Early Years and Foundation Stage workshops at Primary School...Juilliard teacher and specialist Ms Donna Costella will be at school inspiring our dance students.
This second half of this first term is going by very quickly. It is great to see the Christmas trees popping up at both the Primary and High School campuses, but this really brings home how close we are to the end of term. Of course, this also means that all the wonderful yuletide celebrations featuring music concerts, theatre productions, and other performances are also just around the corner.
Last weekend our school was honoured to host Kym Scott, an Early Years-Foundation Stage Consultant, who organised some fantastic workshops attended by our very own teachers. These workshops were also open to teachers from other international schools. In fact, over 170 attendees participated in some wonderful professional development activities over the three days. A genuinely collaborative spirit emanated from the various workshop spaces, as teachers examined and exchanged ways to hone their pedagogical practises and further enhance the learning environment for their respective students.
This Monday and Tuesday we have Juilliard specialist performer and teacher, Donna Costella, coming to school. Ms Costella will be working with our dance teachers and children across both campuses, inspiring them to express themselves through dance. We are so very fortunate to have Donna with us, and I hope that this visit can be a springboard for further community involvement in the performing arts at St Andrews.
A huge congratulations to Lilly Satidtanasarn who was invited to attend the debriefing session of the ASEAN Summit events, and again on 8th November to speak on Plastic Pollution at a UNESCAP event. Lilly has been a very active campaigner against plastic pollution in Thailand and being asked to speak at this prestigious conference shows just what a great effect she is having. Lilly has really made a huge difference by helping to bring the issue of plastic pollution in Thailand into the mainstream news. I know she has worked hard with our Ecobeasts and worked along with other High School students to send strong messages to our community about what we can do to improve this situation.
