Over the last year, Prague British International School has been working on developing the fitness area at its Libuš campus. On Friday 17th January Vladimír Šmicer, the former Czech International football player, cut the ribbon to officially open the Fitness Suite and Active Zone.
This area is planned to be a wonderful resource, not just for PE but for all students, as regular exercise is a fabulous way to relieve stress and stay healthy. The school will also be offering a programme of fitness activities from Krav Maga to yoga for students in years 10-13, parents and staff, which will be led by qualified, external sports instructors.
Please see the photos from our fitness opening below.
Come on, it’s not rocket science. For some people it is! A 2022 graduate from PBIS, Ilyes is currently working on his bachelor's degree with a focus on mechanical engineering, physics, and computer science at Sorbonne University in Paris. Apart from his academic work, he’s also working on a modest side project: developing a jet engine. His approach, in his own words, is to “learn as much as possible about everything” so he can apply his knowledge to real-world situations and make the world a smarter, better place.
