PRAGUE BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL’S ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

OUR ADMISSIONS CRITERIA AND APPLICATION PROCESS

Prague British International School is a truly global learning community, which is open to children aged from 2 to 19. We’re an open enrolment school, which means anyone can join us. We accept applications all year round, too, and many children start their education with us during the academic year.

PRE-NURSERY TO YEAR 6

At PBIS, we offer pre-nursery education to children aged 2-3, and nursery education to children aged 3-4 years old.

Children can join our reception (aged 4-5) class if they turn four before the start of a new school year (1st September). Children who celebrate their fourth birthday after 1st September will remain in our nursery class for a further full school year before starting in reception. We're open to children who don’t speak English up to Year 6.

​Pre-nursery and nursery parents can choose full-time attendance from 08:05 am - 3:00 pm and/or add on our optional after-school 'Happy Hour' until 4:00 pm.

YEAR 7 TO 13

Students joining us in Year 7 or above will need to either sit a language assessment (non-native English speakers) or a maths and literature assessment (native English speakers). It’s particularly important that our IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) students are proficient English speakers.

Students who want to join our IBDP in Year 12 need to have passed their IGCSE exams (or equivalent).

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

As well as filling in our online application form, you’ll need to send us some supporting documents:
  • A copy or scan of your child’s passport.
  • A copy or scan of your passport.
  • Your child’s most recent school reports (in English).
  • A copy or scan of your child’s immunisation record.
  • A copy of your child's health insurance card.
  • A passport-sized photo of your child.
