ASPIRE Edition I: Not a typical school week at the MET

Aspire Edition I - Aspire Edition I
This March, The MET hosted ASPIRE Edition I, a three-day event designed to help students explore future possibilities and grow as lifelong learners. Organized by our MET National Honor Society and College Counseling Department, ASPIRE gave students the chance to connect with universities, hear from professionals, and reflect on their own goals.
A look into their future

The event began on March 14th with a University Fair, where 11 universities from the United States met with students and parents. Admissions representatives shared valuable information about academic programs, scholarships, and career opportunities—giving students direct access to what their next steps could look like.

On day two, students joined a series of “Deep dive into Admissions” workshops, featuring representatives from universities in the USA, Canada, and Spain. These sessions helped break down application processes, country-specific expectations, and gave students a deeper understanding of how to prepare.

Career Day: Real talk with Experts

The highlight of ASPIRE was Career Day, which returned for its second year. With 19 professionals from industries including film, medicine, engineering, aviation, entrepreneurship, diplomacy, and more, students had the opportunity to hear authentic stories and ask real questions.

Many of the guest speakers were MET parents and even staff members, making the conversations even more meaningful. And for the first time, our Grade 9 students joined the experience, giving them early exposure to the world of careers and possibilities.

The event closed with a reflective and hands-on session: the “Bridges to Success” workshop, hosted by a Spanish university. Students explored different career paths through a creative project, connecting all they had learned throughout the week.

A community effort

Huge thanks to our MET National Honor Society students, our College Counselor Ms. Mayra Bultrón, the school staff, and all the parents and professionals who made ASPIRE possible. Their time, insight, and generosity helped turn these conversations into meaningful inspiration.

Experiences like these are a reminder of what makes the MET unique—creating space for students to dream big, plan smart, and connect with a future they’re excited about.
