A festival that goes beyond the stage
Each student selected a pathway—Dance, Musical Theatre, Pop/Jazz Ensemble, Acting, or Orchestra—and worked with guest artists who are experts in their field. Months before even boarding the plane, our students received pre-work to prep them for the experience ahead. So, when they showed up, they were ready to shine.
But the learning didn’t stop there. In between rehearsals, students chose three additional workshops ranging from Podcasting to Modern Dance, Music Technology, and even Samba Drumming. Each session brought something new, exciting, and totally out of the norm.
So much more than performances
After intense days of rehearsals and workshops, the week wrapped up with a showcase performance at the British International School Theatre in Houston. It was one of those “wow, we really did that” moments—equal parts pride, adrenaline, and awe.
Evenings brought fun: games, group dinners, and the highlight of the trip—attending Cirque du Soleil’s "Echo". For many students, seeing this live performance was a turning point, showing just how far the performing arts can go when imagination meets artistry.
The real takeaway
Sure, they returned with new techniques and skills. But more importantly, they came back with renewed confidence, friendships from across the continent, and a clearer sense of where their talents could take them.
Whether you're already a part of the MET family or you're exploring schools that support creativity, confidence, and global connection, this experience offers a powerful look into what performing arts education can truly be.
