Outstanding results achieved by MET IB Diploma students for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Our students achieve more than they may have thought possible. We believe there is no limitto what students can achieve socially, personally and academically. This year, our students’ academic results reflect our shared commitment to excellence.
The IB results have been revised worldwide and we are delighted to share with you that the MET students’ International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results have changed for the better.
For the 2019-20 academic school year, the MET Class of 2020 achieved an impressive pass rate of 96%, significantly higher than the international average pass rate of 80%. Our class average score was 33.4 points, 3.5 points higher than the IB global average of 29.9 points widening the gap between the school and other IB schools around the world.
Additionally, a very high proportion of our Senior class (75%) studied for and achieved the IBDP. We are very proud to report that our high score was 40 points. This is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world’s elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Stanford.
Once again, we congratulate our Class of 2020 for this fantastic achievement in what was a singular and challenging year. Our students put in the hard work across the years, we know they have very bright futures ahead of them and we can’t wait to see what they do in the future. With offers to study at top universities in Abu Dhabi, England, Scotland, the US, Canada, The Netherlands, Spain, and Germany as well as here in Panama, we wish them every success.
It is important to highlight that for the 5th consecutive year, all MET students passed the three core subjects (Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS - Creativity-Activity-Service). This is a significant accomplishment for schools to have five straight years with a 100% pass rate in the core areas, and is a testament to the quality and dedication of our students and teachers.
As a family of schools, the Nord Anglia group global point average is now 34.4 out of 45, with an outstanding 96.9% pass rate. This marks seven years of our global family exceeding the world average scores and the strongest set of IB results in Nord Anglia’s history. A huge congratulations to all our graduates and IBDP achievers for a job well done!
