Our Year 9 students recently embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to Taman Negara in Pahang, Malaysia.
Throughout the week, students explored the outdoors and participated in a variety of activities. From raft building and jungle trekking to thrilling boat rides and wildlife spotting on night walks, every moment was filled with excitement and discovery.
One of the highlights of the trip was learning about different cultures. Students visited a local Orang Asli Indigenous tribal village, where they gained insight into traditional ways of life. They saw the intricately crafted handmade housing, learned how to make fire using traditional methods, and even tried their hand at using blowpipes. It was a powerful opportunity to appreciate the rich heritage of the local community. In addition, our students visited a local secondary school, where they participated in making traditional kuih, a type of Malaysian snack, and enjoyed playing sepak takraw, a popular sport in the region.
These activities not only broadened their horizons but also fostered a sense of connection with the local culture. This trip was more than just an adventure; it was a chance for our students to have fun, embrace new challenges, and learn about the diverse world around them. We are excited for the many more adventures that lie ahead!
Our Year 7 students went on two amazing trips to Sibu Island, Malaysia, for their year group residential. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and immersed in a vibrant new culture, students had the chance to connect with their friends and make memories that will last forever.
