Trips and expeditions
From an early age, our students go on exciting overnight adventures at camps in Hungary and across the globe. Your child will visit some amazing places, enjoying outdoor activities that build their confidence, resilience, and sense of independence. Students can also take part in once-in-a-lifetime Nord Anglia expeditions to Tanzania and Switzerland.

Physical recreation
Whatever your child’s passion, they’ll find an activity they love on our recreational sport programme. Combining friendly competition with training sessions that hone skills and talents, our sports clubs are open to all, giving every student the chance to get active and try new things.

BISB Wolves
Our BISB Wolves teams compete in local, national, and international leagues and tournaments. Training every week, our students finesse their talents, develop a healthy sense of competition, and learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Performing Arts
Your child’s star will shine brightly, as they express their creativity through music and drama. Through our exclusive collaboration with The Juilliard School, aspiring actors, performers, and musicians learn from expert instructors and artists, following tailored pathways that nurture talents, ignite imaginations, and develop intellectual curiosity.

STEAM
Through our collaboration with MIT, your child will explore the infinite possibilities of STEAM. Tackling hands-on challenges set by MIT professors, they’ll harness the power of interactive technology – including robotics, iPads, and 3D printers – to ‘invent the future’. In doing so, they’ll learn the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.

We encourage our students to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, the world’s leading youth achievement programme. The Award will give your child the opportunity to do what they enjoy, try new activities, and make a real contribution to our community.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What curricula will my child follow?

    We teach the best in British and international curricula, including the English National Curriculum, IGCSEs, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

    Early Years (ages 3-5): Early Years Foundation Stage.
    Primary (ages 5-11): English National Curriculum.
    Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14): English National Curriculum.
    Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16): IGCSE.
    IB Diploma (ages 16-18): International Baccaluaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

  • Do you provide pastoral care?
    Yes, your child’s wellbeing is our top priority. We know that children who feel safe, supported, and included thrive – both personally and academically. Our in-house pastoral care team – which includes counsellors and safeguarding experts – actively keep an eye on each child’s wellbeing and support those in need. All our teachers take part in specialist training with the world-renowned Anna Freud Centre, too, ensuring they have the knowledge to provide the right advice and guidance.
  • How do you communicate with parents?
    We keep in touch with you in a variety of ways. These include our newsletter, social media, emails, and our three online platforms: Kinteract (early years), Seesaw (primary), and Firefly (secondary). Our teachers will update you on your child’s progress through communication books, parents’ evenings, and regular contact meetings.
  • Do you run a bus service?
    Our safe and efficient bus service can pick your child up and drop them home at the end of the day. The cost depends on where your family is based in Budapest. To find out more, please get in touch with our admissions team on: admissions@bisb.hu
  • Do you provide after-school childcare?

    Yes, we offer after-school childcare for our early years and primary students (3:15-5:30 pm, Monday-Friday).

    Childcare is provided by our dedicated learning support team. Please note, there is a charge for this service. To register your child, please contact: admissions@bisb.hu

  • What extra-curricular activities do you offer?
    Our extra-curricular clubs and activities offer something for everyone, ensuring your child has the chance to do what they love. From sports and creative arts to languages and music, our enrichment programme encourages students to showcase their talents and pursue new passions.
