BISB is one of the longest running British private schools in Hungary, having opened its doors to 18 students in 1992.
From humble beginnings, we’ve grown into a thriving global community that provides an outstanding education to over 1,050 students from more than 60 countries.
In 2002, The British International School Budapest joined the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family of premium schools. That same year, we introduced the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) into our curriculum.
We moved to our current, purpose-built campus in a peaceful hillside suburb of Budapest in 2004. Twelve years later, HM Ambassador Iain Lindsay OBE opened our new secondary campus, which houses a host of state-of-the-art facilities, including basketball courts, a theatre, science lab, all-weather sports pitch, and Visual Arts Centre.
Firmly established as a school of choice in Budapest, we pride ourselves on our academic excellence and inclusive community. Our talented students consistently achieve outstanding IGCSE and IBDP results, going on to great success at top universities and in fulfilling careers across the globe.
