ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

At BISB, we offer places all year round to children aged 3 to 18. After taking a tour and completing our online application form, we'll invite your child to sit an age-appropriate assessment. This ensures we can meet their learning needs and provide the right blend of challenge and support.

We’re proud to be a fully inclusive school. We have an outstanding team of learning support specialists who provide for a range of needs. Their capacity is limited, however, so please let us know if your child has any additional educational requirements when you first get in touch with us.

Assessment and interview
After receiving your form and documents, we’ll invite your child to an assessment. Depending on their age, this may include class observations and English language fluency, writing, and cognitive skills tests.

Offering and accepting a place

  • How do I start the admissions process at The British International School Budapest?
    The first thing you need to do is fill in our online enquiry form. We’ll get back to you within 24 hours (excluding weekends). In the meantime, we recommend looking through our website, which is full of useful information.
  • Is there a deadline for applications?
    No, you can apply for a place at any time during the school year (spaces permitting). Please get in touch with us to check our current availability.
  • Will my child need to take a test before they enrol?
    Yes, your child will sit an assessment as part of The British International School Budapest’s admissions process. This ensures we can meet their learning needs and offer the right blend of challenge and support. Our assessments and interviews vary depending on the age of the child, but may include class observations and English speaking, writing, and cognitive ability tests.

    All our lessons are taught in English, which is why it’s so important that your child is sufficiently fluent. Our expert English as an Additional Language (EAL) team will help students who need extra support. 
  • What's included in your fees?
    Your child’s fees include school materials, most of our co-curricular activities, and secondary exams.
  • Can I visit the school?

    Yes, of course! We’d love to show you around. Get in touch with The British International School Budapest’s admissions team who will organise a tour of our campus.

    If you can’t make it to Budapest, we’ll set up a one-to-one virtual discovery meeting via Microsoft Teams.
