British International School Budapest (BISB) entry requirements
Our school is open to children aged 3-18. We accept applications all year round and new students can start at any time.
We’re proud to be a fully inclusive school. We have an outstanding team of learning support specialists who provide for a range of needs. Their capacity is limited, however, so please let us know if your child has any additional educational requirements when you get in touch with us.
Application form and supporting documents
After filling in our enquiry form and taking a tour – either in person or virtually – you’ll need to complete your child’s online application form.
You’ll also need to send us the following documents:
- A copy of your child’s passport.
- Your child’s most recent school reports (last two years, in English).
- A copy of your child’s immunisation record.
- A reference form, completed by your child’s current school.
Assessment and interview
Early years to Year 2
We’ll invite your child into class to meet our teachers and spend some time with their peers. This observational visit also enables our staff to assess your child’s learning preferences and abilities. All children need to be out of nappies/diapers.
Years 3-9
We ask prospective students to complete an online cognitive ability test. If English is not your child’s first language, we will invite them to take an English assessment.
Year 10
Your child will be asked to complete an online cognitive ability test. If English is not their first language, we will invite them to sit an English assessment. Your child will also be asked about their IGCSE subject choices.
Year 12
All prospective students need to complete an online cognitive ability test, a maths assessment, and an English test. Once we have the results of these assessments, your child may then be asked to an interview with our Head of Secondary, where we’ll discuss subject choices for the IB Diploma. This may lead to further assessments in the subjects chosen.
Once the assessments and interview are complete – and if everyone is happy – we’ll formally offer your child a place.
