The final sale in our Sustainable Uniform Sale Series for 2022/23 was held on 8th and 12th of May. Despite the rain and gloomy skies on the last day, 73 customers shopped to make their uniforms more sustainable.
Over the two sale days we sold 80.65kg in uniform, the equivalent of 135 primary uniforms, and rotated 44% of our stock. We took in 326,000 HUF in sales.
Compared to the previous two Sales in the 2022/23 Series, this was our smallest sale. However, there are some exciting trends.
The biggest of those was the huge turnout for secondary uniform this time. We sold 47 white shirts during our Spring Sale. We sold only 9 at our Winter Sale in February! Overall Secondary was 45% of the sale this Spring compared to less than 20% in the Autumn and Winter.
And secondly our exchange side is growing. We had 30 exchangers this sale compared to 21 at the Winter Sale. These 30 exchangers exchanged the equivalent of 157,500 HUF worth of uniform compared to only 92,500 HUF in the winter. Overall exchange represented 33% of our sale compared to only 15% in the winter. Thus proving how valuable our outgrown school uniform truly is.
In addition to sustainability in the garment industry, the student Changemakers on this project are also learning about building a small business. All revenue generated by the Sustainable Uniform Sales Series of 2022/23 will be used to finance the project further to achieve our goals. The students are now ready to invest in permanent storage for the uniform to help us improve communication, advertising and sales. Stayed tuned for photos!
We will begin collecting for September’s sale in June, we hope to catch all the School leavers, all Year 6 leavers and all Year 11 leavers’ uniform as well as anything you outgrew or got covered in paint this year!
Well done, Team!
