Dear parents,
Parent Survey 2017
Our initial survey results arrived this week and I am pleased to be able to report some headlines.
Thank you to all parents who responded. Overall, 69% of parents provided their opinion, a massive increase from 51% last year. This certainly means that we can be more confident that the opinions expressed are representative. I hope it also means that you feel that it is worth letting us know what you value and what we could do better. We are certainly committed to listening to parents and doing all we can to improve what we do for the children.
We all want children to have a high-quality education, feel safe and happy and to make good progress. Our survey results show not only a high level of satisfaction with these four key aspects but also significant increases on last year and the year before.
While we should certainly look carefully at those who were less positive, we do know that this year on year improvement shows that we are moving very confidently in the right direction.
I am delighted with the level of satisfaction with our facilities:
It would be disappointing if this were not the case, given our recent expansion and refurbishment. Our new field, gym and sports centre will further enhance our facilities early next school year.
Overall, 89% of parents would recommend our school to others, up from 72% in 2015 and 77% in 2016. We are certainly seeing the results of this in the increase in demand for places from across Budapest, Europe and beyond.
Over the coming weeks, we will look in detail at the responses and draw up plans to ensure that we continue on this positive trajectory. We will also look at the areas where satisfaction is not as high as the figures above, and set in place action to address this.
The next stage of communication is to send parents a more detailed summary and include significant responses from across all areas of the survey. Early in the summer term, an outline of any adjustments to our plans for the future will be communicated.
In the meantime, I would like to pay tribute to everyone in the school community, teachers, assistants, administrative staff, maintenance, cleaners, kitchen staff, drivers and guards who have worked so hard with students and parents to set us on a very encouraging path.
With warm regards
Richard Dyer
