Learning at Saint George stretches far beyond the classroom. We offer an array of transformative experiences that will unlock your child’s talents and enable them to follow their passions.

Afternoon program
Delivered by specialist coaches and tutors, our extensive afternoon activity program offers something for everybody. Your child can code, design, and program robots, master the ancient art of chess, or hone their public speaking skills at our Debate Club. Sports clubs range from basketball, soccer, and volleyball to rhythmic gymnastics, while we also offer opportunities to learn an instrument and refine musical talents.

International competitions
Our students represent the Saint George family at competitions across the continent – and beyond. Demonstrating teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership, our Dragons sports teams compete in the Nord Anglia Education Americas Global Games and Junior Games, which reflect the spirit and camaraderie of the Olympics. They also take part in the SGS Cup and intercollegiate events. The Harvard National Forensics Tournament and the FIRST LEGO League enable students to showcase their unique talents on a global stage.

Trips and expeditions
Life-changing adventures deepen our students’ understanding of the world and enrich their education. Our exclusive IB Trip: Experiences Abroad program gives our International Baccalaureate Diploma students the chance to put theory into practice, as they immerse themselves in real-world, experiential learning. Our Mission Space Trip to the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida is an out-of-this-world adventure, while our Debate Trip to Harvard University immerses our learners in a world of stimulating discussion and discourse.

Action and service
A range of leadership and service opportunities – both beyond the classroom and through our academic programs – teach our students to act with honor, purpose, and passion. These include community outreach initiatives, our in-school Project Green sustainability program, and the Creativity, Activity, Service element of the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Model United Nations
Our students actively engage with global issues through our Model United Nations (MUN) program. Replicating the work of United Nations delegates and committees, our young people develop their critical thinking, diplomacy, and public speaking skills, while working as a team and growing in confidence. With a host of attributes and knowledge, our students go on to shine at prestigious MUN conferences around the world.

Our families are an integral part of our school community, and we offer an array of opportunities for them to get involved in day-to-day school life.

    Our campus is in Piantini, a thriving neighborhood in the heart of Santo Domingo. Our address is: Saint George School, C/ Porfirio Herrera #6, Ensanche Piantini, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
  • What languages do you teach in?
    Saint George is a truly bilingual school. We teach in both English and Spanish, ensuring our students become fluent dual-language communicators. Bilingualism also cultivates a deep cultural appreciation, nurturing respectful global citizens who are ready for success in our interconnected world.
  • What curricula do you teach?

    From Infant through to Upper School, we teach an international curriculum with a strong British foundation, which also integrates the Dominican Republic’s National Plan of Studies.

    At Upper School, this includes the globally respected Cambridge IGCSE program (ages 14 to 16) and renowned International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) (ages 16 to 18). We’re proud to be the only school in the country to offer both courses.

  • What size are your classes?
    Our class sizes vary by age group. However, our average staff to student ratio is just 1 to 7. This gives our teachers the time and space to get to know your child, identify and nurture their talents, and provide the right level of support and challenge.
  • Which universities do your graduates go to?
    The success of our IBDP students – both in terms of their points score and breadth of skills and achievements – is recognized by the world’s top universities. Many secure prestigious scholarships, too, which reflects our reputation for educational excellence. Recent graduates have gone on to study at Yale, Columbia, Georgia Tech, and the University of Chicago, among many others.
