OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE

Empowered by our multicultural community, your child will learn about themselves and others, engage with local and international issues, and support the causes that matter to them. In doing so, they’ll become an empathetic, open-minded citizen who makes a difference both here and around the world.

Strength in diversity

With more than 45 nationalities represented within our student body, our school is a rich tapestry of cultures. This elevates our students’ global awareness and understanding, and inspires them to discover their place in the world. Learning in such a diverse environment also provides a unique insight into different customs, traditions, and perspectives, while simultaneously instilling values such as respect and tolerance.

Against this backdrop, our young people feel empowered to help others. They develop a strong commitment to service and become active agents of positive change, contributing not only to our local community, but also to society at large.

engaging with our communities

As part of our whole-school commitment to local and global citizenship, we encourage our students to support charities, community outreach projects, and the causes they are passionate about.

Whether it’s planning a beach clean-up or volunteering at a local shelter, our young people learn the importance of giving back – and develop transferable leadership, communication, and organizational skills. By actively participating in these activities, they also develop a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those in need. This gives our students an awareness of their own privilege, too, encouraging them to be mindful of the impact they can have on others.

becoming a model citizen

Our Model United Nations (MUN) program immerses our students in the world of international diplomacy, as they role-play UN delegates and simulate the work of committees.

Your child will debate topics of global significance and propose game-changing solutions, as they learn to communicate with confidence and become an active citizen. Our MUN Trip to Yale University, meanwhile, is an extraordinary opportunity to participate in one of the most prestigious conferences in the world.

caring through the curriculum

Our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is truly purpose-driven, enriched by opportunities that instil a sense of social responsibility. Through the Creativity, Activity, Service element of the core program, for example, our young people go above and beyond in support or others, becoming social entrepreneurs as they seek innovative solutions to important issues.

One of the ways they make a difference is through active collaborations with esteemed organizations, including Operación Sonrisa and the Ministry of Agriculture. They also get hands-on, from constructing houses in Callejón De Los Santos, Hatillo, San Cristóbal, to volunteering at a local children’s hospital.
