At BSKL, our students use their courage, knowledge, and determination to make a difference to people, causes, and communities in Malaysia and across the globe.
Our BSKL for Malayan Tigers group – set up by students – raises awareness of the endangered Malayan Tiger. To date, our children have spread the word in 12 countries, raising more than RM100,000. Their commitment to the cause has also been recognised by the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). In school, our Eco Lions group drives sustainability, helping us build a more environmentally minded community and a brighter, greener campus.
While they’re with us, your child will also learn about the challenges facing our planet – and act to address them. One of the ways they’ll do this is through our exclusive collaboration with UNICEF.
Our students hone their public speaking, writing, researching, and teamwork skills at the annual UNICEF Global Summit. And at the BSKL Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, we welcome colourful debate and discussion on global themes, including migration. Our students learn to collaborate with their peers, explore and research, communicate with passion and enthusiasm, and develop creative solutions to the world’s toughest problems.
We encourage our Year 10-13 students to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, too. By immersing themselves in experiences that build confidence, perseverance, and independence, our students learn new skills and give back to the community. The Award is such a valued part of life at BSKL that we’ve built our own programme for Year 7-9 students.
