Performing arts are so much more than what is seen on stage. They encourage self-expression and self-awareness, as well the development of empathy, confidence and cultural exploration. Our collaboration with Juilliard, the world-renowned performing arts school, combined with our outstanding dance, drama, and music programmes, inspires our students’ creativity, team-work and resilience.

Our co-curricular sports clubs are open to all, giving every student the chance to get active and do what they enjoy. Taking part in regular physical activity from a young age also encourages lifelong healthy habits.
Activities include traditional team sports like basketball, football, volleyball, netball, and cricket, as well as the chance to shine individually on the badminton court or in the swimming pool. We also offer kickboxing, yoga, fencing, and Capoeira for those who want to try something a little different.
Our students represent the school in local, national, and international leagues and tournaments. Your child will hone existing talents, develop a healthy sense of competition, and learn the importance of sportsmanship.

Through our exclusive collaboration with The Juilliard School, aspiring actors, performers, and musicians learn from expert instructors and artists, following tailored pathways that nurture talents, ignite imaginations, and develop intellectual curiosity. And from Year 2 to Year 9, every student at BSKL learns an instrument.
There’s something for everyone at our after-school clubs. Our primary students can sing in a choir, let their imaginations run wild at our drama and storytelling club, or learn the ukulele. At secondary, budding DJs and producers make some noise at our electronic dance music creation club, while our senior orchestra, brass ensemble, and chamber choir showcase the breadth of our students’ musical talents.
Creativity flourishes at BSKL. Your child will choose from a range of clubs and programmes that engage them in new and stimulating activities.
At our STEAM club, your child will think outside the box, team up with friends, and solve challenges set by MIT professors. We also offer robotics and coding, chess, and competitive maths clubs, which put our students’ logic and critical thinking skills to the test.
Aspiring creatives can develop captivating stories at our animation, writing, and filmmaking clubs, while our yearbook and school magazine groups bring budding photographers, writers, editors, and illustrators together. And at our embroidery, props, and sewing and fashion design clubs, students sketch, pattern, and produce exciting creations.
Languages are an important part of the learning experience at BSKL, helping to prepare your child for success in our globalised world.
Learning a language is also proven to have a profoundly positive effect on cognitive development. Research shows it boosts critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as strengthening memory and making young people more creative. Taught by our native language specialists, we offer French, Spanish, and Mandarin. We run a club for Chinese native speakers, too.
Our secondary students also showcase their communication skills at our TED X club, researching, writing, and delivering their own impressive TED talks. Our law and medic societies introduce students to potential career pathways, while our Oxbridge entry club guides students along the journey to outstanding higher education.
Our incredible citizenship trip to Arusha in Tanzania teaches students about global responsibility and sustainability, and the important role we play in looking after our planet. Working with locals on a variety of projects, students develop a sense of independence, increase their understanding of the world, and learn the importance of being part of a community.
The personal challenge expedition in Les Martinets, Switzerland, encourages our students to push themselves to their limits. Set in the beautiful Swiss Alps, students hike through the mountains and take on a series of challenges. Students also learn important skills – like cooking and working together under pressure – while creating treasured memories that will stay with them forever.
Every year, a group of BSKL students take part in workshops, seminars, and debates at the UN High Level Political Forum and Model UN event in New York, US. Our students collaborate with staff, contribute to committees, and influence world leaders.
Our younger students make the most of our beautiful city and natural surroundings, enjoying a school trip each term. Each excursion is designed to enhance the formative education they receive in the classroom and is linked to the topics they’re studying. For example, our Year 1 students visit a local farm to learn about where their food comes from.
From Year 4 onwards, your child will have the chance to go on one of our fantastic residential trips. Each exciting adventure is closely aligned with the curriculum and is packed with hands-on experiences that enhance our children’s understanding of teamwork and cooperation, while building self-confidence and independence. Past trips have taken place in Melaka, Gopeng, and Langkawi.
Our secondary students enjoy sport, music, drama, Model United Nations, and cultural trips both at home and abroad.
On every trip we offer, your child will be supported by experts, who will encourage them to stretch themselves and take age-appropriate risks. This develops their personal character, social abilities, and resilience.

BSKL students use their determination, skills, and resilience to make a real difference to people, causes, and communities in Malaysia and across the globe.
Set up by students, our BSKL for Malayan Tigers group raises awareness and funds for the endangered Malayan Tiger – and has been recognised by the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). In school, our Eco Lions group drives sustainability, helping us foster an environmentally minded community and build a brighter, greener campus.
Students lead and get involved in clubs that address social concerns, too. These include our Model United Nations group, social impact team, and upcycling club.
