Juilliard

The Juilliard School in New York City is one of the world’s leading institutions for performing arts education. All our students benefit from the magic of art, dance, drama, and music. Students with existing passions will have their eyes opened by incredible world-leading teaching methods. Participating in the performing arts is crucial to your child's development because creativity is a key that can unlock imagination and transform your child's approach to education across every subject. 

Director of Fine Arts, Elizabeth Korkosz highlights," The Juilliard Collaboration enriches learning in Dance, Drama, and Music at North Broward by embedding the Juilliard philosophy into the curriculum. This philosophy emphasizes key values such as success for all, exploratory learning, igniting creativity, inquiry, reflection, and meaningful encounters with works of art. These principles guide the North Broward faculty as they integrate the Juilliard Creative Classroom into the performing arts curriculum, offering a holistic and enriched educational experience for students of all ages. This integration ensures that students not only develop technical skills but also cultivate a deep appreciation and understanding of the arts."

Freshman Jack Rodman, academic scholar and arts academy student shares, “The Juilliard School experience has developed me as an actor. The lessons continue to teach me to search for deeper meaning in theatrical pieces. By participating in the NAE Festival of the Arts, I solidified my knowledge in the classroom and applied it on stage, bringing everything to life.” 

MIT

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education is vital to thinking beyond the classroom to develop creative thinkers and innovators. The MIT-Nord Anglia Collaboration bridges MIT research labs and NBPS classrooms, inspiring students and faculty with hands-on, interdisciplinary explorations of real-world problems.  

Director of Educational Technology and Innovation, Ariel Jespersen shares, “Interdisciplinary understanding is immensely powerful knowledge. STEAM inspires innovation and is essential for addressing the world's biggest challenges. At NBPS, teaching and learning of STEAM subjects is enhanced by our collaboration with MIT and MIT innovation and culture.  

Alumna Sara Kaufman, Class of 2023, currently attending John Hopkins University studying biomedical engineering and minoring in creative writing, remembers when MIT alum and mathematical sculptor and designer, Dr. George Hart came to campus to showcase the connections between art and mathematics in creating installations.

“Creating a tangible masterpiece was truly inspiring. This experience inspired me to blend poetry and healthcare by installing my own art displays for hospitals.” 

UNICEF

The mission of North Broward Preparatory School is to inspire global citizens to create their future and live with purpose. Our aspirations align with our partnership with UNICEF, allowing our students to make a substantial impact in their local and international communities. Addressing the seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and practically applying them to implement real change.  

Two student leaders, Junior Anna Toledano and Senior Inayaa Kazi, attended the UNICEF- Student Summit with over 120 Nord Anglia students worldwide in Houston, Texas. This summit experience enriched their understanding of global issues and empowered them to advocate for positive change within their communities. Both expressed a desire to implement change in a big way.

Whether it be professional development days on their campuses or guest artists coming to North Broward Prep for a teaching demonstration with our faculty, teachers, and students, the growth is continuous.
