5th grade hiked to the mirador overlooking Green Valley with the students from our neighboring sister school, developing relationships with students in our local community. 4th grade went on an "Amazing Race" orienteering and learned about survival skills and communication in the wild. 3rd grade organized a river clean up and then enjoyed playing in our local river. 2nd grade practiced yoga and meditation at the lookout towards the city. 1st grade went on a sensory nature walk and then did some nature sketching. Kindergarten did water testing and observation at boat races at the river. EC4 students started vegetable gardens and EC3 students planted flowers for the beginning of a pollinator garden.
Thank you to Ms. Feliu-Love for coordinating everything and to all the staff who participated and cooperated. A special thanks to the 70+ parent volunteers who turned out to join in the exploration and fun!
