Year 3 ‘How Humans Work’ Recently in their IPC lessons, Year 3 have been learning about the different systems in the human body and how they work together. After learning about the skeletal system, Year 3 decided they wanted to know more about how skeletons are able to run, jump, and kick. Following some wholeclass investigation work into muscles, Year 3 were all able to construct their own models demonstrating the movement of muscles in the limbs and hands.
“We learned about bones and muscles. They can help us to move our body. We made a model of our hand and arm. After we made our models, we put them together. For the arm and hand model, we used straws and string to make our hand model. We used cardboard to make our arm. We really enjoyed making models and we hope to do it again”.
