Our Dover Court International School (DCIS) Year 3 students had their first Residential Trip on 4th - 5th May. Students had the chance to experience independence in a supportive environment, have fun and enjoy their first sleepover on campus!
The children started the day playing games and creating artwork on the beach before exploring the marine life of the aquarium in relation to our Topic; ‘Island Life’.
Year 3s then headed back to school for their big sleepover! They set up their sleeping bags in the sports hall and enjoyed dinner in the Red Dot before settling down for a movie before bed. The next morning saw Year 3s eating breakfast and packing up before taking part in a drama workshop about exploring a mysterious island!
Everyone showed independence, creativity, and resilience and most importantly, had lots of fun! The residential trip provided a fantastic opportunity for students to bond with their classmates and make new friends.
Pooja, a parent shared that the sleepover in school brought back a lot of lovely memories for her and was a memorable experience for her son. “He was so excited about his residential trip! He had a smile all week leading up to the day and an even bigger smile when I picked him up after, with sleepy eyes of course!”
At DCIS, students of all ages participate in exciting local and overseas trips designed to broaden horizons and provide tangible connections to learning.
School trips are a fully integrated part of our curriculum where all students have the chance to participate and develop a broad range of skills, embracing new and challenging opportunities. Learn more about our trips to locations across Singapore and expeditions to places all over the world here.
