We are thrilled to congratulate our BSKL Physical Education & Swimming Department for hosting our first-ever Nord Anglia Education Invitational Swim Meet 2023 held at BSKL last weekend. The event was an outstanding success, bringing together some of the most talented young swimmers across sister schools the likes of Nord Anglia International School Dubai, The British School of Kuwait, and local international schools that have supported this event like Prince of Wales International School, Epsom College in Malaysia, and Garden International School.
Over the course of two days, we witnessed the remarkable races of more than 200 swimmers aged between 8 to 16 years old. The competition was fierce as participants showcased their abilities in four different categories: 10 & under, 12 & under, under 15, and under 18.
We are extremely proud to announce that Joshua Lim from Year 7, Daniel Foo from Year 9, and Ryan Aymes from Year 11 emerged as the top boys in their respective age groups. Their outstanding performances deserve special recognition. Moreover, BSKL's swim team claimed victory in two girls' age categories and three boys' age categories. Combining the scores from both girls and boys, BSKL emerged as the overall champion of the inaugural NAE Invitational Swim Meet.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Our principal, Dr. O'Connor, played a pivotal role in supporting the Swim Department in promoting the event amongst our sister schools, as did the PE and facilities departments in ensuring the meet ran smoothly. We are also immensely grateful to our dedicated parents and several secondary student leaders who generously volunteered their time and effort over the weekend to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Due to the overwhelming success and positive feedback, we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the NAE Invitational Swim Meet annually. We look forward to welcoming even more NAE schools next year and continuing to foster the spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among our young athletes.
Once again, congratulations to our BSKL Swim Team for their outstanding achievements at the 1st NAE Invitational Swim Meet. Their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship have made us all immensely proud.
