The calendar has been packed with activities that showcase the talent, determination, and collaboration of our school community.
Mock exams have been a significant milestone for many students, particularly those preparing for their final external examinations later in the year. The commitment shown by students to their studies has been commendable, with early mornings, revision sessions, and focused work fostering resilience and readiness. For those undertaking external exams this term, the experience has been a testament to their hard work and the support offered by teachers and peers. We wish you all the very best of luck with the outcomes.
Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs) have provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. These meetings are not just a chance to review academic progress but also to celebrate achievements, address challenges, and collaboratively plan the best pathways forward for our students. We thank all parents and caregivers for engaging so positively in these conversations. As previously mentioned, the Term 2 Parent Feedback Form focuses on PTCs. Please find the link to the form here. The form will be open for responses until 03/02/2025.
The arts have also taken centre stage this term, from mesmerising musical performances on BSKL Band Night on Wednesday to success at the FOBISIA Battle of the Bands competition last weekend. Two BSKL bands secured places in the BOTB final: Seb Just Sneezed and MOG Band. Both bands performed exceptionally well with MOG Band securing third place overall in the KS4&5 category. The level of preparation and passion displayed by all involved speaks volumes about the depth of talent within our school. Thank you to the staff who supported and guided the students through these events and activities. A longer article on these events with accompanying photographs will be published shortly.
We also extend our gratitude to our wonderful Mandarin Department for organising the recent decorations, cultural activities, and celebrations for our students. The creativity, dedication, and attention to detail you brought to this initiative were truly remarkable. The vibrant decorations throughout the school created a warm and festive atmosphere, immersing everyone in the richness of Chinese culture. It was wonderful to see the students so engaged and excited as they experienced the traditions and stories brought to life through your hard work. From the intricate displays to the thoughtfully planned activities, your efforts have left a lasting impression.
Following on from Dr O’Connor’s email highlighting our planning for the new Secondary class structure in key stages three and four next year, the dates of the Parent Academy sessions to explain the new class structure are given below. The sessions will take place in the theatre.
Please Note: These sessions will not cover content related to the change of school day timings.
Have a wonderful weekend,
