Celebrating the Leadership Behind BSB Shunyi's University Success

We are so proud to say that, already, 75% of our current offers come from QS Top 100 universities and over 40% come from QS Top 50. These institutions are renowned for their academic excellence and global reputation. Securing offers from such esteemed universities is a significant achievement and highlights the quality of education and support at BSB Shunyi.

Jayne Needham, our Principal since August 2021, brings over 30 years of experience in education, with 15 years in leadership roles at IB World Schools. Jayne's extensive background includes positions such as Head of Mathematics, IBDP Coordinator, Head of a Secondary School, Vice Principal, and Principal. Her leadership and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in driving our students' success. "The fantastic offers our students are receiving are a testament to their hard work and the care and support offered by our amazing teachers."

In addition to offers from top global universities, our students have also received 8 offers from leading universities in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). These institutions are highly regarded in Asia and beyond and receiving offers from them is a testament to our students' academic prowess and potential.

Bevan Graham, our Head of Secondary and Vice Principal, joined BSB Shunyi in 2021. With over 30 years of teaching experience, including 19 years in an international setting, Bevan has been a driving force behind our students' achievements. His leadership and dedication to student success have significantly benefited our school community. "We have such talented students, and with the support we offer at BSB, it's no wonder our students are able to achieve such phenomenal outcomes and go to the world's best higher education institutions. I couldn't be prouder."

Furthermore, almost a quarter (23%) of our offers are from universities in the United States. The US is home to some of the world's most prestigious and innovative universities, and our students' success in securing offers from these institutions reflects their hard work and ambition. The diverse range of universities in the US provides our students with numerous opportunities to pursue their academic interests and career goals.

Gregory Peebles, our IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, has been actively involved with the International Baccalaureate (IB) since 2011. With a strong background in IB World Schools and a deep understanding of multiple IB programmes, Greg has played a vital role in ensuring the academic and personal development of our students. "The IB Diploma at BSB, our flagship programme, has opened doors to ten different countries for our students this year. Armed with our world-class education and our holistic outcomes, our students are ready to take on whatever challenges lie ahead at the world's top universities."

Our students have also received 24 offers from esteemed Russell Group universities in the UK. These universities, known for their rich history and academic excellence, are highly sought after by students worldwide. The offers from Russell Group universities further demonstrate the high calibre of our students and the quality of education at BSB Shunyi.

Notably, some of our students have received offers to study the prestigious Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) programme, which is known for producing influential leaders and thinkers.
