The Book Week Celebration is a favourite for many here at BSB, and you'll see why!
The week was filled with many engaging learning activities organised by our dedicated teachers, inspiring our students’ creativity and fostering a love of reading. It was wonderful to see the joy and enthusiasm for books throughout our school, making it such a memorable experience for all.
Roundabout Book Fair
One of the highlights was the popular Roundabout Book Fair at BSB! Students were able to buy books to read, share their enjoyment with classmates, and contribute to charity at the same time!
Roundabout is pleased to announce that 110,674 RMB was raised from our Book Fair! All proceeds will go towards supporting Xinyi and Binbin who are suffering from leukemia.
Thank you to all who have supported the book fair including our parent volunteers, staff facilities team, and those who have donated books and bought books! Together we can truly make a difference!

Storytelling Magic with Student Participation
We are pleased to welcome visiting storyteller, Barry Stewart Mann, who captivated students with his lively storytelling. He took them on a journey around the world through traditional tales, myths, and legends. Not only did the students enjoy listening to his stories, but they also actively participated in the sessions and learned valuable storytelling techniques to bring their own tales to life. Seeing students become part of the story added a new dimension to the experience and was a powerful reminder of the impact of active participation in learning.
Guest Readers and Reading Buddies
Another exciting element of Book Week was the opportunity for students to hear from a variety of guest readers, including teachers and Reading Buddies with both secondary and primary students sharing their love for books. These special reading sessions provided a wonderful sense of community and demonstrated that reading is for everyone, regardless of age or year level.
This year, we also had the opportunity to extend this collaboration to include reading to German primary students, and Korean Secondary CCA Student Ambassadors reading traditional tales to Year 2 students and interactive role-playing activities. This made the experience even more enriching and helped strengthen the sense of community across different sections of the school.
Door Competition
The door competition added a splash of color and creativity to our corridors. Students decorated their classroom doors based on a book, showcasing incredible teamwork and imagination. The creativity and effort put into each door were impressive. Well done to all the students!
Book in a Jar
The Book in a Jar Competition in Primary proved to be a big hit. Students displayed their creativity by representing books in unique and artistic ways inside a jar. The entries were imaginative and thoughtful, demonstrating a deep appreciation for storytelling.
Book Dress Up Day
Students and staff were encouraged to come dressed as their favorite book character. See how creative we are!
Thank you to all the students, teachers, and parents who helped make Book Week such a wonderful success. The enthusiasm and spirit throughout the week were inspiring. Thank you for your continued support in making reading such a meaningful part of our school community.
