It is with great pleasure to announce that our Year 9 students Jingxuan (Mario) Wang and Moritz Theis Kuhnert have both been awarded a place at the MIT-Nord Anglia STEAM experience held on MIT campus, USA from 30th October to 3rd November, 2023.
Mario and Moritz worked on their “Hack the Tube” Challenge individual projects and competed against students from all NAE schools in the China region. They have successfully made it through the final selection round after an extensive judging process. They will now be heading to MIT to join students from NAE schools worldwide. Well done to both students, we are so proud of them!
Moritz made a tube that can move on water. He called his hack “Message In a Bottle”! A really cool creation.
Mario’s Hack was a Paper tube Rocket which he launched from his balcony and it successfully reached the ground.
About MIT-Nord Anglia STEAM Programme
The MIT-NAE collaboration is unique to BSB and Nord Anglia students who can participate in exciting challenges designed by leading MIT professors built into our daily STEAM curriculum. They also participate in MIT Abstracts which are live webinars presented by PhD students at MIT who are conducting cutting-edge research in their chosen field of study. MIT provides excellent materials and resources to ensure our students can explore, have fun and be curious about the world around them.
