Last week Year 4 went on their residential trip to Huairou district in Beijing. It turned out to be a lovely opportunity for students to try something different from their usual structure to the school day.
The camp was an outdoor camp where students built their own ‘civilisation’ whereby each class became their own tribe. In order to build a successful civilisation, students needed to successfully master a number of skills. One of the activities involved building a catapult. The two teams then attempted to hit each other with a wet sponge.
Day two involved the students building on their work today. At camp, there was talk of creating a national flag for our ‘tribe’ as well as building an Art Gallery to show off the best of the ‘civilisations’’ art work.
The day finished with students getting to know each other a little better by playing some traditional playground games including Chase the Shark, and untying the human knot.

What a wonderful day we had hosting our annual Chinese New Year Temple Fair on campus on Sunday. This great community event included games, a Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, a face changing performance, traditional crafts, a bouncy castle, food vendors and gift stalls. Thanks to everyone who made the event possible and magical!
Before the holiday break, we had the privilege of hosting a memorable awards ceremony to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in sporty After-School Activities (ASAs). This special event allowed us to recognise the dedication, effort, and talent demonstrated by our students throughout the term.
Today, our students had the wonderful opportunity to take part in two live broadcasts with CNN and on the important topic of Climate Change.
