NURTURING CHILDREN INTO MATURE LEARNERS
Our curriculum helps students mature socially and emotionally, giving them opportunities to work with their peers, hear about different perspectives from across the world, and share their ideas and achievements with the school community. We want every child to feel what it’s like to be inspired and we ensure they have these experiences on a regular basis through our cross-curricular approach to teaching.
INTRODUCING NEW AND CHALLENGING TOPICS
Our topic work covers history, geography, science, art, PSHCE, literacy, maths and Design & Technology. Weekly specialist lessons include Chinese, music and PE. Our curriculum also involves several trips, including residential excursions for both Year 3 and Year 4.
In guided reading, we focus on developing students’ comprehension skills and their ability to talk about the text they’re reading. Weekly library sessions give students access to a wide selection of books, and we encourage parents and children to read books at home.
BUILDING CONFIDENCE, SHARING TALENTS
Students have lots of wonderful opportunities to present and perform to a range of audiences: their class, parents and the rest of the school. This boosts confidence and gives students a platform to show off their skills and talents. Performances include class assemblies and a class performances.
