This term, Year 2 have been learning about many interesting people in our ‘What makes someone inspirational?’ Topic. They have explored space pioneers, technology forerunners, civil right activists, inventors and many other inspiring individuals.
To conclude this Topic and share their learning, the children created their very own classroom museum to showcase the lives and achievements of the people they have learnt about. They made fact files, posters, timelines, models and portraits to show as much information as they could and invited their parents in to learn too.
It was a wonderful afternoon and a fun way to celebrate the learning in Year 2!
Edarabia had the opportunity to interview Joanne Prabhu, the Principal of The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun. Joanne is passionate about providing students with a world-class education that prepares them for success in the 21st century. In this interview, Joanne shares her insights on the school's plans for the future, the importance of student wellbeing, and the challenges facing education in the coming years.
We were delighted to welcome Hilary Easton from Juilliard school recently.
As part of our Literacy curriculum at BSB Sanlitun, we introduced the Drawing Club Literacy Programme. This innovative programme from the UK offers a unique and engaging approach to developing early literacy skills while fostering creativity and self-expression. Through drawing, children explore and visualise stories, making connections between images and words.
Year 5 students had the opportunity to visit an impressive exhibition of Shang and Zhou Dynasty artifacts at the Poly Art Museum. We are fortunate to have such wonderful museums close to our school - there are many benefits to being located in the heart of Beijing!
