We were delighted to welcome Hilary Easton from Juilliard school recently. During her visit our Year 6 students joined Hilary in the Dance Studio to learn about unison and non-unison choreography, inspired by Aszure Barton and Together or Not Juilliard Creative Classroom activity.
During Hilary Easton's visit and as part of our Julliard Collaboration, our Year 5s students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about creative processes and what was her inspiration to choreograph the Flash Mob dance in 2017-2018. Our Pelicans also performed a traditional CNY Dance and listened to Hilary's feedback.
Our Year 3 students enjoyed an interactive and fun dance lesson, too. The session was called Music Moves and the students had the chance to learn how percussive, swinging and sustained movements complement or contrast in Akram Khan's musical score, based on Kathak, a form of classical Indian dance.

Year 5 students had the opportunity to visit an impressive exhibition of Shang and Zhou Dynasty artifacts at the Poly Art Museum. We are fortunate to have such wonderful museums close to our school - there are many benefits to being located in the heart of Beijing!
