IB Visual Arts Exhibition Review 2025

7

The IB Visual Arts exhibition was an amazing showcase of the students creative and life journeys. Each piece reflects them, like the beautiful tapestries done by Aru S. The exhibition not only demonstrates their growth as artists but also provides insight into their critical thinking and social stances. One of the pieces that highlighted the students' unique approaches was a painted artwork by Ananya R. using U.V. lights, that became an incredible and immersive experience for the audience. It's a great demonstration of their hard work, creativity, and dedication to visual expression.

Visited by many students the exhibition, left all with very strong feelings. Maria, Zoe and Sofia from Y12 stated “We really liked the use of different mediums; it really shows how expressive art can be. The piece with the cans made of clay was incredible, it had such a unique way of delivering the message, so did the chessboard piece.’ Maria also added “From visiting their class we realised, having a supportive and understanding teacher like Ms. Evans also allowed students to realise their own unique ideas in the artworks they produce.

It was a wonderful experience to witness their hard work and effort on display. When I went around the space as a current year 12 IB student all I could think was the amount of thought and effort everything took to complete and put together.

When walking in you were greeted by one of our Art prefects Aru's sections. Her pieces were about her growing up and the changes that brought from society and life. She had very moving pieces that explored hardship and womanhood in depth. I enjoyed seeing her intricate paintings depicting her and her father and their ever-lasting bond.

Then once you turned around you were greeted by Linett’s beautiful exploration of Hungarian architecture and traditional embroidery. Her eye for detail and the intricacies of the drawings pulled me in. I was amazed by the time it must have taken.

Once you were taken through to the back you see Ananya's collection of works. She had lovely sculptures and unique mediums such as her glowing elephant piece which amazed everyone with its creativity. I was blown away at the idea of a glow in the dark painting. She also had an amazing sculpture of red-bull cans from her art for social change topic.

Overall, this was a valuable experience that was unforgettable. I can say every student and teacher that attended enjoyed how beautiful and personal each and every piece was.
