What can you do when you are given a yellow, rubber, sticky chicken? Science of course!
Year 7 were given just that item and asked to develop an experiment to show something they have learned during their current topic about energy changes.
The clue that the chicken was stretchy gave them a head start, and many looked at how far it would travel when pulled to different lengths - thinking about how elastic potential energy would turn into kinetic energy.
Some also looked at how it stuck to different surfaces.
We did have a couple of injuries (of chickens!); one was stretched a little too far, and one made an escape over the atrium - see if you can spot them....
A lot of learning, and fun, was had by all.

We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming Neurodiversity Week from March 31st to April 4th. This event is dedicated to celebrating neurodiversity, breaking down stigma, and promoting understanding within our school community.
This term, the Year 7 students are exploring the work of 19th-century Pointillist artists and learning about mark-making, focusing on the use of dots to create art.
This week, our Early Years students took their love of reading outdoors, celebrating World Book Day with a magical morning in Kiscelli Forest Park. Surrounded by nature, the children eagerly swapped books under the trees, discovering new stories and characters in the fresh air.
