Y7 Art Trip to Kiscelli Park Forest – A Creative Adventure in the Sunshine!

10

Last Wednesday, the 18th of September, our Year 7 students set off for a day of fun and creativity at Kiscelli Park Forest, and what an amazing day it was! Blessed with beautiful sunshine, the students embraced nature whilst trying three exciting art activities.

At the first station, they got hands-on with tonal leaf drawing, focusing on tone and shading to bring their sketches to life. The next stop was all about colour as they created stunning oil pastel landscapes, drawing inspiration from Monet, using impressionist marks to capture the beauty of the forest. The final challenge was a collaborative one, where students worked together to build Land Art sculptures in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. Using natural materials, they explored textures, categorization, and sculpture-making in a fun and inventive way.

Here is what some of our students had to say about their fantastic day at Kiscelli Park Forest!

“The art trip was very fun and engaging, and the surroundings were breathtaking when we went to the heart of the forest to draw the impressionist landscape inspired by Monet. What I enjoyed the most was working together as a team to build the land art sculptures. We laughed and had fun!” – Bella Vaczi

“Last Wednesday we were meant to go to the gorgeous Margit Sziget but instead we went to radiant Kiscelli Park Forest. It was incredibly cheerful, and we got an absorbing experience. We had a lovely time doing tonal leaf drawing and making art with the help of mother nature and finally the Claude Monet impressionist oil pastel painting.”Lia Guney

“We went to Kiscelli Forest which was close to school. It was an incredibly fun and immersive experience. We had a lovely time sketching leaves, creating patterns and creations from natural materials, and even creating a Monet-style oil landscape.” – Yinchi Yang

A huge thank you goes to all the supporting staff and the Art Department for making this fantastic day possible! The students had a brilliant time, and their enthusiasm and creativity made the trip a truly memorable experience. What a wonderful way to spend a Wednesday! 🌞🎨🌿
