This week, we would like to introduce the driving forces behind our kitchen: our head chef, Laurent Bavay, and his deputy, who is also our dietary chef, Lívia Iványi Horváthné.
Both have extensive experience in the field of catering. Although they come from different sectors, they complement each other perfectly by combining their knowledge.
Mr. Bavay was born in France and completed his studies there. Throughout his career, he has gained experience in various countries and fields. He has worked in France, Netherlands, the Republic of Congo, and, of course, Hungary. In Hungary, he held the position of head chef at places such as Le Meridien and the French-Hungarian Embassy. He has been working at our school since 2019, so for the past five years, our students have enjoyed the excellent dishes prepared by the chef and his team.
Our deputy head chef and dietary chef, Mrs. Lívia Iványi Horváthné, also has vast experience in her profession. She has worked in public catering for over 13 years. From the beginning of her career, she has been involved in children's catering. She has worked in a student dormitory and also in an institution caring for children with disabilities. There, she deepened her knowledge of the dietary aspects of various food allergies and completed her dietary chef training five years ago. The dietary meals she prepares are so delicious that it’s hard to tell they are made with alternative ingredients. She has been working at our school since 2021, much to the delight of our students, with whom she maintains a very close relationship.
