We are Year 10 Jade, and for our Service-Learning project, we are working towards helping the unhoused in Hungary. Our work and vision are powered and inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 1 – No poverty. We have decided to align with the Menhely Alapítvány, a local organization that has been supporting and helping the unhoused since 1989. After consulting with Menhely Alapítvány, we decided to collect the most needed items for them, consisting of canned ready-made meals and sanitary products. We aim to collect 500 canned ready-made meals and as many sanitary products as possible. All items donated will be delivered directly to Menhely Alapítvány.
We would like to ask our kind and humble community members to participate in our Service-Learning project by generously donating canned ready-made meals and sanitary products. The donation and collection period is from the 4th of March to the 8th of March 2024. However, we kindly accept any donations even after that.
If you would like to support our project by donating either canned ready-made meals or sanitary products, you can either ask your child or children to give your generous donations to the relevant form tutor or simply leave them by reception with a note '10 Jade' on it. Let’s collaborate to bring a positive change to someone’s life!
We look forward to receiving your donations to support the Unhoused.
Year 10 Jade
Year 12 have been spending a lot of time in Sports Hall One over the last week. Not doing sport, although they could tell you the science behind it…
There was a fun packed programme for the secondary students remaining on-site, which followed the 5 Co-Curricular strands. Students were immersed in languages, film-making, STEAM activities and cooking. They learned about children's rights and advocacy, and showed their creative talents through artwork. They hiked in the hills and formed friendships across year groups. See the Firefly page for further details and photographs
It has been a very memorable end of the primary journey for our Year 6 students. This last week of term has been jam packed. On Monday and Tuesday, the students performed the end of year production of ‘Olivia’, on Tuesday morning, there was a year group water fight and on Wednesday afternoon, they finally graduated with a special ceremony.
As a community, we've been actively promoting healthy eating habits through our weekly articles about life in the kitchen. With the summer holidays just a few days away and the heatwave this summer, we must all be more mindful of our fluid intake.
