UPDATED Eco Shop: As mentioned in the previous update, we will soon be officially selling non-microplastic, biodegradable liquid soap and detergent in collaboration with the Uniform Exchange sale (exact dates to be announced soon). These would be sold from big containers, which would then be dispensed in other empty containers that customers would voluntarily bring when wanting to purchase soap or detergent — containers that they would normally throw away, but would reuse now. We have established a price of 1800ft/litre for both the soap and detergent. Our incentive for this endeavour is to reduce our non-biodegradable footprint as we not only sell sustainable products, but also urge you to reuse your unused containers that you would normally throw away. To kickstart this process, we have made and put posters around the school informing students, teachers, and staff about what our project entails (see images below). To develop this, we had a stand at the SISU Fair yesterday further promoting our project. We showcased the box where we would collect people’s clean containers for soap/detergent they wish to purchase.
If you are interested in purchasing from our shop, please bring your clean containers with the student’s name and their form group written on the container (e.g. Beatrice Smith Y8 JWA) to C10 and leave them in the box (Mr Sherrell, who is usually in the room, will show you more specifically where to put them). Students can bring them any time during the school day (although not during lessons). We will fill up your containers with the product(s) you want and will price them accordingly. We will then email the respective student when they can pick their ‘order’ up, informing them of the price. So please make sure you look out for any emails on Outlook!
Senior Changemakers applications:
In case you haven’t visited our stand at the SISU Fair, we also offered application forms for students to enrol in the Senior Changemakers CCA as the current Year 13s will be leaving soon and there will be quite a few vacant places. If you wish to enrol, please do not hesitate to send an email to darren.sherrell@bisb.hu expressing your interest. It would be amazing to have more creative and proactive students who are willing to implement their ideas and make a change in our CCA. Only for students Years 7 and up.
