Dear Parents,

As announced in an email sent earlier this week, the Parent Teachers Association is excited to invite you to this year’s Christmas Fair, which will take place on Saturday, 30th November from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.

The entrance fee is 2000 HUF, which includes four vouchers for activities, including student-led events. Vouchers and raffle tickets will be available for purchase starting 25th November, after drop-off and pick-up, in the reception area.

Please note that only cash payments are accepted.

The Christmas Fair will feature activities for all ages: stalls by primary and secondary students supporting their charities, a marketplace with arts, crafts, and unique vendors, plus a pre-loved book station. Enjoy family photos, visit Father Christmas, try your luck at the tombola and raffle, and savor food and drinks in the dining room with student-led musical performances.

Tombola Collection

On 20th November, BISB will mark World Children’s Day with a ‘Wear Blue’ day. On this day, children can also bring an item for the Tombola, which will take place at the Christmas Fair. The funds raised from the Tombola will support a local charity benefiting children. This year, we encourage students to bring something from home rather than purchase something new, promoting sustainability and reducing waste. Acceptable items include unopened pantry goods or new/unopened toys.

Pre-Loved Items Collection: Books, Jeans, Costumes, and More

As in previous years, we will be collecting pre-loved books to sell during the Christmas Fair! This year, as part of our ongoing efforts to support the community, we are organising a collection of items to make a meaningful impact. If you would like to contribute, here are the ways you can help:

  • Pre-Loved Books: We are collecting gently used English-language books that are ready to find new homes. Please place any contributions in the designated box next to the security station at the gate.
  • Pre-Loved Jeans: Any jeans—of any size, any condition—are most welcome! A local charity will repurpose these for arts and crafts projects. Contributions can also be placed in the box next to the security station at the gate.
  • Pre-Loved Costumes: We are also accepting donations of pre-loved costumes. Whether it’s for a fancy dress party or just a bit of fun, your gently used costumes will be greatly appreciated. Please drop them off in the donation box at the security station.
  • Shoebox Gifts for Children in Need: We invite you to donate an unwrapped shoebox filled with gifts for children in need. Kindly add a label indicating the recipient (boy/girl and age group) to help us ensure it reaches the right child. Shoebox gifts will be collected at the Christmas Fair on Saturday, 30th November.

Your contributions are invaluable and make a real difference in the lives of others. Thank you for your generosity and kindness!

Warm regards,
Petra
