At The British International School Budapest, students achieve more than they believe possible. We know that there is no limit to what our students can achieve socially, personally, and academically. This year, our students’ academic results reflect our shared commitment to all-round excellence.
Our entire school community is proud to announce that our graduating students achieved exceptional results in this year’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
Our Class of 2022 achieved a pass rate of 100%, with an average points score of 35.7. This is nearly 4 points higher than the IB global average of 31.98 points. In addition, over 27% of our students scored 40 points or higher, scores that are typically required to be considered for admission to the world's elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford. One student achieved the maximum 45 points, which less than 0.5% of students worldwide achieved.
Mr Benjamin Turner, Principal, is delighted. He says:
Our students have secured their places to study at some of the most prestigious universities worldwide in a broad range of courses. We are delighted that our commitment to supporting students to gain entry to the best further education institutions, whatever their interests or passions, is evident in their destinations.
Two students have secured their places at Cambridge and others will continue their studies at excellent universities all over the world, including London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Parsons School of Design, University of Amsterdam, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, LMU Munich, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Durham University. We are excited to see what our students achieve across courses including Medicine, Law, Economics, Design, the Natural Sciences, Business, Psychology, Engineering, Philosophy, Sociology, and Mathematics.
As a group, Nord Anglia Education scores climbed in every one of our IB schools, with an average score of 35.1 for the year. This marks our ninth straight year of beating the global average. Nord Anglia's schools have 1,500 students sitting the IB Diploma, which is the highest for any school group in the world, and this year we achieved a pass rate of 97% compared to the global average of 89%.
Huge congratulations to all our Class of 2022 for a job well done!
