Join our Open Morning for Years 1 and 2
During the last couple of weeks, Year 1 classes have been working on building a sensory and vegetable garden. It has been fantastic to see how much the students have enjoyed the project, especially watching the plants grow each day.
The vegetable garden was initially cultivated before the students planted tomatoes donated by the kitchen as well as some other vegetables. It has helped the children’s understanding of where food comes from and how we can grow more using leftovers. The idea of the sensory garden sprung from having a sustainable area all year round to help stimulate students' sense of smell with calming herbs such as lavender, mint and rosemary.
With wonderful parent donations of planting pots, we have been able to expand the garden and we look forward to seeing it grow over the next couple of weeks and years to come.
