Students in Year 6 have started a new topic learning about Minimalism music. This week they studied a piece of music called 'Music for 18 Musicians' by American composer Steve Reich.
Minimalism is a type of music that features short musical ideas and a lot of repetition. When Reich composed this piece, he imagined a kaleidoscope of colours. Take a look at some of the artwork drawn by Year 6 students as they imagined their own kaleidoscope of colours inspired by the changing sounds of the music.
