Over the Easter break, Year 7 started their new topic Simple Chemical Reactions. During the topic, they performed a few, sometimes messy reactions in their kitchens and gardens using readily available household chemicals and items.
They made some Cola bottles explode and some freeze, turned eggs into bouncy balls by soaking them in vinegar, made a strange liquid called Oobleck that acts like a solid when you apply force to it, and even made plastic from milk and vinegar. Hopefully, they are now looking forward to coming back to school soon to carry out more exciting chemistry experiments in the lab.

Following the postponement of Journey’s End before Christmas, we are pleased to announce the new dates.
Year 9 have been showing their green fingers/thumbs by trying to germinate cress seeds under various conditions, to see what is important for the seed growth.
There was more basketball on Saturday. This time our U14 Girls A and B teams had their DVAC Festival here at BISB.
