On Wednesday 6th November the Year 9 Hungarian class visited Ady Endre Emlékmúzeum as part of their current topic in Hungarian Literature. Students showed great interest and learnt a lot of new information about the poet's life and work. They also went to Fiumei úti sírkert (cemetery) to see the grave of Ady and other famous Hungarians.
What students learnt:
I learnt that there was a separate staircase for maid in Ady's flat. (Annalisa Spadoni)
Ady's wife (Csinszka) got into a major fight with Ady's parents after his death. (Juli Kiss)
Ady was ashamed of his legs and teeth, so he never had full figure portraits taken and he never smiled in the photos. (Juli Kutas)
When Ady met Csinszka for the first time, he sent a letter to his ex-fiancée and pictured Csinszka to seem way worse than she actually was. (Barbara Sedlak)
Ady and Csinszka slept in separate rooms. (Aliz Torma)
