A Night at the Circus On Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June, the Performing Arts department hosted our ‘Night at the Circus’ event.

On Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June, the Performing Arts department hosted our ‘Night at the Circus’ event. Students from Year 1 – Year 12 participated in the event offering a range of ‘circus’ themed performances. Despite disruption to rehearsals, due to a burst water pipe at school, the show did go on! The show was opened by the Orchestra and their performance of ‘Entry of the Gladiators’ to introduce the circus theme. Stage Stars broke up the musical performances with their ‘Commedia Dell’arte’ scenes and in the first half we had choral performances from Sing and Move, BISB Primary Choir, Senior Vocal group and the Primary Rock Band. As we moved into the second half of the show, the Primary Guitar and Ukulele group performed ‘Ring of Fire’ and we had a fantastic display of gymnastics from the Primary students to ‘The Greatest Show’ and the Jazz Band entertained us with ‘Hooked on a feeling’. The combined finale of ‘Somebody to Love’ from our Community Choir and Senior Vocal group encompassed the energy and buzz of the whole evening. All the students involved have worked very hard over the last term to put the two evenings together, showcasing all their combined talents. I am very proud of them all.
