Winners of Creative Writing Competition
The winners of our Primary Creative Writing Competition were announced last Friday during our Top Dog assemblies. The judges had a very difficult time deciding on the winners due to the wonderful writing on offer! However, a decision had to be made and the winners received a book voucher for the PTA book fair which will be held during Book Week on Thursday 7th March. The winners of the Key Stage 1 competition and scribed story categories will be revealed this week.

The winners of the Key Stage 1 competition and scribed story categories will be revealed this week.
In the Year 5-6 category, the first prize went to Emily Thompson in 6 Amber for her wonderfully evocative story, “The school of repairs”.
“I stopped to look at the view. This is my favourite place on the walk. The wind blows and sweeps up my long, brown hair and here is where flowers grow and the birds call from up above. Sometimes I feel like they are calling to me, telling me: everything will get better, things do, just you wait and see.”
Second prize went to Dora Tong in 6 Bronze for, “Parallel Universe. Rich or Poor?”.
“Milly flopped on to her bed as soon as she finished dinner, not even bothering to do her homework which was due tomorrow. I’ll shower in the morning, she thought glumly.”
Third prize went to Kristof Blunck in 5 Cobalt for, “The Worst School Ever”.
He was interrupted by the loud shout of the headmistress. “Attention! James, tie your shoelaces! Charlie, buckle your belt! Jack, button your shirt!”
Everything the headmistress ever said was a shout. She even shouted in her dreams! Now who in their right mind would do that? Nobody. (No offence people who aren’t in their right mind.)”
In the Year 3-4 category, first prize went to Petru Gheorghe in 4 Lilac for, “Make a Change”.
“It was a normal day of Autumn. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming, on days like these everyone should be happy. And yes, everyone was happy.
“Hey Kuriko, do you wanna do some sick beats after school?” Yonder questioned me.
No.
“Hey Kuriko, I forgot to do my homework.. help..” Daniel shrugged in embarrassment.
You should’ve done it.
“Hey Kuriko, let’s play dodge ball after school,” Nindo carelessly didn’t even ask.”
Second prize went to Gergo Kapus in 4 Lilac for, “The Unleashed Island”.
“Is the principal kind?” Stuart asked.
“Oh no, he is devilishly bad”, whispered Connor.
After two years at that gruesomely horrible school, Stuart and Connor decided that they were going to make the school a better place.
Third prize went to Evie Russell in 4 Lilac for, “A Very Different Journey to School”.
“Her day started as the Ugandan sun rose. Abbo knew it was going to be another hot day. …. As she entered the forest she heard the birds squawking and the monkeys howling. Abbo was terrified.”
