Members of the Orchestra and Music Theatre Club and IGCSE Music students had a fabulous time taking part in the European Performing Arts Festival this week.
Key stage 3 students worked alongside Miss Turner and Mr. Doherty. They were tasked with devising a performance, to accompany a piece of live music, with drama students sparking curiosity by exploring the many avenues of physical theatre.
Miss Turner and Mr. Doherty were extremely impressed by the student’s collaborative approach, with our talented performers demonstrating their adaptability as the government announced that we would be returning to the virtual classroom the next day and that they had only one day to devise, rehearse and record the final performance for the concert.
Year 10 IGCSE music student Aglaia Manno, was tasked with creating a representation of Poland through the medium of performing Arts entitled “Postcard From Warsaw”.
She chose to compose her own song set to the text of the poem ‘Father Explains’ by Czeslaw Milosz. Aglaia too demonstrated her adaptability by completing her composition and recording her performance during Virtual School.
You can see our talented actors and musicians demonstrating their creativity in the final performances, by clicking on the concert link below.
